Questions about the history of Spanish?

I am so confused about Spanish history. I read that Isabella Castile and Ferdinand of Aragon United From Spain, but Spain Spain was not appointed until several years later and the kingdoms of Castile and Aragon were kept away, but the two monarchs have worked together as if the two kingdoms were one.
